Portsmouth, UK: "The site was based on the Imperial War Museum's project to establish a UK National Inventory of War Memorials (UKNIWM) but research has now been extended to cover all memorials and monuments in Portsmouth. We are grateful to the Imperial War Museum, the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and Portsmouth City Council for their help in the collection of information. We are particularly indebted to John Owen of Havant who carried out much of the research for the site, to Cynthia Sherwood for additional material, and to Francis Lovering for his work on our databases.
